Biography

Prior to joining Thomson Rogers LLP, Isabela completed a judicial clerkship at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Central East, Oshawa). Isabela supported judges on family, civil, and criminal matters. Through exceptional mentorship during her clerkship, she developed a particular interest in family law.

Isabela received her Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. During her legal studies, Isabela excelled academically, receiving the Rosen & Associates Award for the highest grade in Tax Law and Practice. She also enjoyed mooting, being selected as a Top Oralist and Finalist for the law school-wide McCarthy Tétrault Cup Moot Court Competition.

Isabela has been actively involved in her community, developing a passion for access to justice for linguistic minorities. She co-founded the Lincoln Alexander Francophone Students Association and volunteered with the Law Society of Ontario’s Litigation Services department in developing bilingual resources through Pro Bono Students Canada. She helped usher into her law school’s curriculum its first French elective in partnership with the pan-Canadian Certification de common law en français program. In addition to English, Isabela is able to assist clients in French and Serbo-Croatian.

Previously, Isabela articled at the City of Vaughan and served as a Research Analyst at Global Affairs Canada. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (cum laude) from York University with a Specialized Honours in Finance.

In her spare time, Isabela enjoys playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.

Avant de se joindre à Thomson Rogers LLP, Isabela a complété un stage judiciaire à la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario (Centre-Est, Oshawa). Isabela a soutenu les juges dans les affaires familiales, civiles et pénales. Grâce à un mentorat exceptionnel pendant son stage, elle a développé un intérêt particulier pour le droit de la famille.

Isabela a reçu son Juris Doctor (avec distinction) de la Lincoln Alexander School of Law à l’Université métropolitaine de Toronto. Au cours de ses études juridiques, Isabela a excellé sur le plan académique, recevant le prix Rosen & Associates pour la meilleure note en droit fiscal et pratique. Elle a également apprécié le plaidoyer, ayant été sélectionnée comme meilleure plaideuse et finaliste pour le concours de plaidoirie de la coupe McCarthy Tétrault au sein de sa faculté.

Isabela s’implique activement dans sa communauté, développant une passion pour l’accès à la justice pour les minorités linguistiques. Elle a cofondé l’Association des étudiants francophones de Lincoln Alexander et a fait du bénévolat avec le département des services aux litiges du Barreau de l’Ontario dans le développement de ressources bilingues par l’intermédiaire d’Étudiants pro bono Canada. Elle a aidé à introduire dans le programme de sa faculté de droit son premier cours de français en partenariat avec le programme de certification de common law en français. En plus de l’anglais, Isabela est capable d’assister les clients en français et en serbo-croate.

Auparavant, Isabela a fait son stage à la ville de Vaughan et a été analyste de la recherche à Affaires mondiales Canada. Elle a obtenu un baccalauréat en commerce (cum laude) de l’Université York avec spécialisation en finance.

Pendant son temps libre, Isabela aime jouer du piano et passer du temps avec sa famille et ses amis.
