OBIA Caregiver Education Workshop
February 22, 2020
On Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 10 am – 2 pm, the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) will be conducting a Caregiver Education Workshop on “Support, Hope & Resiliency: An education and Training Program for Caregivers of Acquired Brain Injury Survivors.”
The workshop will be held at the Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre located at 229 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6B4Z2.
When someone suffers a brain injury the whole family is affected. If you have a partner, spouse, child, relative or close friend with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) it is important to recognize that this situation can be highly stressful to you and it is important to seek support. This three-hour workshop will allow you to engage in meaningful conversations with other caregivers of brain injury survivors as you explore the following topics:
- Understand How ABI Has Changed My Loved One
- Discover Ways to Manage the Emotional, Cognitive and Physical Changes of ABI
- Understand How ABI Has Changed My Family and How to Manage These Changes
- Understand How ABI Has Changed Me
- Discover Ways to Support Myself through the Emotional, Social and Physical Challenges of Caregiving

Following the Caregiver Education Workshop, from 3 pm – 5 pm, Thomson Rogers is proud to sponsor a “Brain Injury Meet & Greet: For Survivors, Caregivers, Family & Friends” in the Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre ballroom which will be open to the public.
