Biography
Prior to joining Thomson Rogers, Isabela completed a judicial clerkship at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Central East, Oshawa). Isabela supported judges on family, civil, and criminal matters. Through exceptional mentorship during her clerkship, she developed a particular interest in family law.
Isabela received her Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. During her legal studies, Isabela excelled academically, receiving the Rosen & Associates Award for the highest grade in Tax Law and Practice. She also enjoyed mooting, being selected as a Top Oralist and Finalist for the law school-wide McCarthy Tétrault Cup Moot Court Competition.
Isabela has been actively involved in her community, developing a passion for access to justice for linguistic minorities. She co-founded the Lincoln Alexander Francophone Students Association and volunteered with the Law Society of Ontario’s Litigation Services department in developing bilingual resources through Pro Bono Students Canada. She helped usher into her law school’s curriculum its first French elective in partnership with the pan-Canadian Certification de common law en français program. In addition to English, Isabela is able to assist clients in French and Serbian.
Previously, Isabela articled at the City of Vaughan and served as a Research Analyst at Global Affairs Canada. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (cum laude) from York University with a Specialized Honours in Finance.
In her spare time, Isabela enjoys playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.
