Biography
Ben Horovatin is an Associate in the Planning, Expropriation, and Municipal Law Group.
Prior to joining Thomson Rogers as an Associate, Ben articled at the Region of Halton, with rotations at the Halton Regional Police Service and the Town of Oakville. There, he gained valuable exposure to a wide variety of municipal and planning law issues, including appearances before various Ontario tribunals and coordination across diverse stakeholder groups. Before articling, Ben summered in the Enterprise Risk Management department at the City of Calgary.
Ben received his Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024. While in law school, Ben volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada as a mock refugee hearing supervisor, assisting claimants in presenting their narrative and cultivating a passion for advocacy. He holds a Bachelor of International Economics (with distinction) from the University of British Columbia, where he specialized in econometrics and developmental economics.
Outside of the office, Ben is an avid home cook and culinary enthusiast who loves travelling, eating, and taking long walks with his fiancée, Emma.
