H. R. V. MINISTER OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

In this Social Security Tribunal decision, the Tribunal member concluded that the Claimant is entitled to a Canada Pension Plan (CPP) disability pension. As a result of her medical condition, the Claimant has been unable to return to her job at a major Canadian law firm since 2014, yet her application for the CPP disability pension was initially denied by the Minister of Employment and Social Development. The Claimant appealed the denial to the Social Security Tribunal and the Tribunal member found that as a result of her medical condition, the Claimant has a severe and prolonged disability and is therefore entitled to the CPP disability pension.
