A legacy of helping people get back to the life they love

Thomson Rogers is proudly celebrating 85 years of standing up for the best interests of our clients. There’s a reason we have been counted on for more than eight decades to be there to support people in their time of need.

Our trauma lawyers relentlessly navigate the most complex and challenging litigation matters to deliver the fair results our clients deserve. Thomson Rogers’ medical malpractice lawyers have successfully litigated hundreds of complex medical malpractice cases, including obstetrical malpractice cases that have resulted in birth injuries to babies and their mothers. Our family law group brings an informed perspective and years of experience to helping clients understand their rights and protect their future. And our municipal law team provides strategic advice and innovative solutions to help clients resolve their challenging municipal and land use issues. We never stop fighting for you.

From our humble roots as a two-person law office, we’ve grown to become one of the largest civil litigation firms in Toronto.

Today our firm includes highly credentialed lawyers who are repeatedly recognized for their accomplishments by their peers. We have argued precedent-setting cases. And several of our alumni have gone on to become judges of the Superior Court of Ontario.

Our firm has been involved in watershed class-action cases including the Indian Residential Schools Abuse settlement—the largest class action settlement in Canadian history—as well as currently representing families who lost loved ones in long-term care homes as a result of contracting COVID-19 and related illnesses. Thomson Rogers has also been at the forefront of innovations in the practice of law such as conducting one of the first paperless iPad trials in personal injury.

We’re proud of our accomplishments, but more than where we have come from, we’re looking forward, building on our experience and expertise to continue advocating for our clients. At Thomson Rogers, we measure success by seeing clients recover from their serious event. Helping people get back on their feet and back to the life they love is the reason we do what we do.

Thank you to our clients and colleagues, past and present, who have helped us reach this remarkable milestone. We look forward to being there for those who count on us for many more years to come.
