Biography
Monica Romero is an Associate in the Family Law Group at Thomson Rogers. She graduated from the concurrent Master of Social Work and Juris Doctor program at the University of Windsor in 2023. Before her legal education, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Windsor and an Honours Bachelor of Social Work (summa cum laude) from York University.
During law school, Monica was a caseworker at Community Legal Aid and completed a social justice fellowship at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic in Toronto. She actively participated in the competitive mooting program and received the Best Respondent Factum award at the 2023 Walsh Family Law Moot. Monica also held leadership roles in various student-run organizations, including the Mental Health and Wellness Initiative and the Sexual Assault Awareness Committee. Monica completed her articles exclusively in Family Law litigation at a boutique firm in Toronto. She has assisted clients in a broad range of Family Law matters, including high-conflict parenting disputes and complex property issues. As a dedicated advocate, Monica is committed to guiding clients through the most challenging times of their lives with diligence and compassion.
In her spare time, Monica enjoys travelling, practicing yoga, and discovering new cafes.
