Biography

Jaikaran Goraya is an Associate in the Planning, Expropriation, and Municipal Law Group. Prior to joining Thomson Rogers as an Associate, Jaikaran articled at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, where he gained valuable exposure to a wide variety of municipal and planning issues. 

Jaikaran received his Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2023. While in law school, Jaikaran was involved in diverse school initiatives. He was a volunteer for the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) Program and Osgoode’s First Generation Network. Jaikaran also served as an Administrative Law Division Leader for the Clinical and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) where he represented clients before various Ontario tribunals and developed an interest in advocacy.  Prior to articling, Jaikaran summered in-house at a large Toronto hospital. 

Outside of work, Jaikaran loves spoiling his adopted tabby cat and spending time with his friends and family. In his free time, Jaikaran enjoys following his favourite sports, binge watching TV and movies, and exploring the city.
